Hi. I'm Mercedes.
Two decades. Every type of school. One uncommon perspective.
I’ve always been a marketing purist. I believe the best strategies are grounded in clarity, driven by purpose, and executed with intention. As a parent of a teen in private school, I’ve lived the buyer’s journey—from inquiry to application to enrollment—which only deepens my understanding of what makes families connect with a school’s message.

Professionally, I’ve spent the last 20 years leading marketing and communications across nearly every corner of the educational landscape. I’ve held senior roles in day schools, highly-selective boarding schools, single-gender environments, faith-based and international schools, and served as a Vice President of Marketing in higher education. I’ve built teams from the ground up, managed through crisis, navigated enrollment headwinds, and presented to boards that expected results.

What I love most is helping schools punch above their weight—elevating their visibility, sharpening their message, and creating marketing that actually works. My consultancy was built for the real world of private schools and colleges: limited capacity, rising expectations, and the need for strategy that’s both smart and doable.

I bring high-level thinking, hands-on support, and a deep respect for the mission-driven people doing the work.
Leadership Across the Sector
Where I've Been
Having worked across private K–12 schools, international boarding programs, single-gender institutions, and a nationally ranked university,
I bring both the nuance and the range to meet each school’s unique marketing challenges.

From launching digital marketing campaigns and redesigning school websites to managing crisis communications and aligning enrollment strategy with institutional goals, I’ve been in the room for the decisions
that matter.

What sets me apart from other school marketing consultants is the breadth of that experience—not just across school types, but across roles. I’ve served as a Vice President of Marketing in higher education, directed communications in K–12 schools, and advised enrollment and advancement teams on how to turn brand storytelling into measurable growth. That 360° perspective allows me to approach each engagement with both strategic vision and practical insight, built from decades of in-house leadership.
